Breaking through.....

Ok, I'm feeling a bit better today. Tuesdays are a little better than Mondays for me...I get in the swing of things & break through the whole weekend hangover!

perhaps...but, I have to say...that is one thing I will miss about the summer...reading. I loved reading books with my kids, by myself, by the pool...sipping cold drinks...gone are those days.

But, breaking through to the other side....here's to a very productive Fall season!

B*hind!!!!

Ok...this is me...b*hind. I'm behind on everything. It's scary. But...school is back in progress & I'm so happy. Don't get me wrong. I love being a mom. Love it. It really is what brings me so much joy.

And I love summers! But, by the time school starts, I am ...we all are...ready for a schedule thing to take effect again. And it's good. It's good for the kids to get back into their studies; be with friends; work hard & enjoy life in a different way.

And..it's time for mom to do the same: get back to my studies=work/deadlines; be with friends=lunch time dates again!; work hard= I need to organize my house & get all Fallish ...love these next few months.....enjoying life in a different way!

I love taking back to school pictures, but this year I'm jacked. I went to my cute cousin's wedding & my camera broke...not just the lens that I love, but the whole thing...no pix! so sad. so so so sad. :( 

I have to get over it. I have to get a new camera....So? What do you recommend?  When do you start school? What are some of your home organization tips?

Storytelling books-

Shutterfly featured an article I wrote about storytelling : here.  It was a ton of fun to do and the book was so so easy!  It's just amazing to me how much my kids LOVE to look at our digital scrapbooks that are bound in fabulous books like this! And, it will be so great to send this book to my sister & her family so they can cherish these memories, too! 

Storytelling is basically our way of telling our stories through photos.  Some call it scrapbooking. Some call it storytelling. Some call it memoir books!  Whatever name you prefer, it's all the same; telling our stories through photos!  For more info on the whole of storytelling, you can refer to the article, but I just wanted to re-cap the major things I was focusing on for storytelling:

1. Supplies:  Be sure to have your camera with you. You don’t have to have an expensive one, just make sure you have a camera with you that you can capture the moments!
2. Enjoy: Make memories! This is the most important. Enjoy the process. Enjoy the moment. Enjoy your vacation! Jot down notes, dates, places so you can include them in your story!
3. Shoot: Take photos of these moments!  With the digital age, it’s easy to delete photos that didn’t work out and save your favorites. But, don’t stress! Make those memories!
4. Put it all together:  Once you are home & editing your photos, keep the story in mind of the memories you have of this vacation. Take out the notes you jotted down for reference & begin telling your story with photos.
5. Photo book: You can choose to focus purely on the photos to tell your story & add text to keep it simple.  Or you can create a full blown digital scrapbook to tell your story.
